The Story

The Chokdee (Lucky) story began with Kanika, a Udon Thani, Thailand native. She inherited her cooking style from her mother who gave all her dishes a unique flavor by adding distinctive peppers and spices.

Kanika's passion for cooking led her to create a menu inspired by her children's favorite Thai dishes and purchasing her first food truck, a little silver bullet. She parked it on a busy corner of Riverside and Congress, where her business took off.

Kanika accommodated to the Austin life style and she traveled with the music. During major music festival such as ACL and SXSW, you could find her parked at a short distance on Barton Springs Rd. or in East Austin.

Motivated by self growth and achievement, Kanika and her family opened to the doors of Chokdee on April 3, 2017, and introduced Manor, Texas to a unique flavor of distinctive peppers and spices.
